Norwegian EMS Provider Kitron to Set Up Plant in China
November 20, 2009
The board of Norway-based EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Service) provider Kitron has approved the company's plan to set up a manufacturing plant in China, according to a November 10 report by Nikkei. Location of Kitron's new plant is expected to be in the greater Shanghai region, in light of proximity to Kitron's Ningbo sourcing office. Production of products featuring relatively low complexity is slated to commence at this site starting from the third quarter of 2010. It is estimated that with the establishment of the new plant, there will be 4,000 square meters of new office and manufacturing facilities for Kitron in China.
